HURRICANE DOLLY, REPORT FROM SAUL...

SparkleHURRICANE DOLLY, REPORT FROM SAUL...
160_NOAA_dolly5_080723

Friends, As you may know, Matamoros area was affected by hurricane Dolly last Wednesday 7/23/08.
I evacuated the children and staff during the storm. Everybody is well and doing fine. Power was lost for several hours but it has been restablished now. It appears we lost only some trees, there was no flooding. I will inspect for other damage...

I appreciate your prayers and concern for us, but thanks God we all are doing fine.

Matamoros has several colonias flooded real bad, areas that allways have that problem. I will be in touch with you and see if we can help any families in those areas.

God bless - Saul

THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US:
This year has been a challenging year in many aspects, but one thing I can say...
WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED!!

A Message from Saul Camacho...

An update for our Friends and Supporters:
What happened to the summer? I do not know about you, but “my summer” came and went so fast that I am still thinking what happened.
During the summer we hosted 12 church groups who held 35 Vacation Bible Schools in different areas of Matamoros; 3 Medical groups who had medical clinics in the area and few who did some construction / repairs at the Children’s Home.
It was a blessing to see over 400 short term missionaries working so hard witnessing to the lost during these 10 weeks. The results of prayer, obedience, dedication and hard work brought 519 souls into the Kingdom!! Yes, 519 children and adults who made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ!! Praise God for His Love and mercy!!
To each and every one of you whom obeyed the call and came to proclaim Jesus Christ in Matamoros, my deepest gratitude for helping me to win my country for the Lord!! Rom. 10:1

Looking back at what was accomplished during these 10 weeks I can only rejoice and say: God is good all the time!! I am blessed with the new friendships developed with the summer missionaries. I pray that their experience of sharing Jesus in Mexico will strengthen their desire to reach out the lost every day, within their families, neighborhoods and all over the places God takes them.

“May God be gracious to us and bless us and makes His face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations”.
Psalm 67:1-2 NIV

My heart, and the vision God has given me for Matamoros Children's Home, is to keep this ministry not only viable, but growing. At present time Matamoros Children's Home is the largest private Christian based organization in Mexico.
I want to:
1) Keep Matamoros Children's Home providing a home and family to orphan, neglected and abused children.
2) Keep Matamoros Children's Home as a training camp to all the children who come here, to become the missionaries our Country needs.
3) Provide you and your church with a platform and experience to do Evangelism and short term missions in the border area and in all the country of Mexico.

In order to fulfill this vision I need you! Matamoros Children's Home is supported only with volunteer donations. Would you pray with me for God’s vision to be fulfilled? Would you like to consider how you can team up with God in reaching these goals?

Serving a Risen Lord!!

Medical Dental Mission Trip

MEDICAL – DENTAL MISSION TRIP:
Last September I took a team of 16, Physicians, Dentist, Nurses, Translators and other support personnel to the mountains in central Mexico. Two villages where there was no Christian work received our teams. After a week of medical work and personal witnessing, 204 people came to know Jesus Christ as personal savior.
God is doing great things among this Indian unreached group. We still have a long way to go to reach out many other villages around.

“All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You o Lord and shall glorify Your name” Ps. 86:9

Children's Corner

CHILDREN’S CORNER:
I remember the day I came to live at the Children’s Home. I remember the day I cut my finger and was taken to the Clinic where you put 10 stitches. I remember you asking me about my relationship with Jesus Christ and urging me to give my heart to Him.

I remember the day I left the
Children’s Home. I was excited about “my new life” out there in the world; I thought I could just “eat the world in one bite”. I was wrong, but it took me several years to learn.

I remember the day I tried to go to another country, illegally, how I jumped into a cargo train and failed.

I remember the excruciating pain on my leg. I remember the Doctor telling me he had to amputate the severed leg………Then I remembered your words “give your heart to Jesus”……
I lost several years of my life and one leg before I gave my heart to Jesus Christ.

Jose C. grew up at the Children’s Home in the 80’s. He is now enrolled in a Theological School and ready to serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”. Prov. 22:6

Computers

COMPUTERS:
One important tool in our daily work and a need in our library for the children to do homework are computers. We had old and slow machines that I had to dispose all of them. Now I am looking to get newer models with higher memory capacity and internet capabilities. If you have Pentium II or better machines that you don’t have use for, I can use them, or if you want to donate towards the purchase of these, please let me know.

Christmas is around the corner!

CHRISTMAS GIFTS:
Would you like to be part of our Christmas celebration?
You can do it by sponsoring one, two or several children or maybe one entire dormitory, as a family or even get your Sunday school class involved.
Gifts: clothing, toys, fashion jewelry, sports equipment, bicycles.
If you are interested contact Maria and she’ll give you details as how to do it.

Tranportation Needs!

TRANSPORTATION:
Our School bus fleet is getting old and I need to find ways to replace them or at least get them back in working order. One needs transmission overhaul, other needs new carburetor, other needs…….. Are you a mechanic, have your own tools, have some dollars to spare in parts, and have a desire to serve and train others? Come and receive the blessing of giving to the Lord!!

PRAYER NEEDS FOR CHIAPAS

Subject: PRAYER NEEDS FOR CHIAPAS

Dear brothers:

A group of 7 pastors from Matamoros, Marcelo and his son Fermin and myself made the trip to Tapachula, Chiapas to deliver about 10 tons of food, clothing, water and medicines. It was a very good experience (especially driving for 30 solid hours!!). Thousands of people are without home, food or clothes. Unfortunately Tapachula is not a resort area and the government help is not flowing as in the Yucatan area.

Pastor Leslie Ortiz, who coordinates the relief work in the area, along with Pastor Ramon Solis from FB Tapachula were a blessing to our team. They took us to the areas where they have been already working. We were able to distribute the clothes and food and water and set up a clinic where I took care of some medical needs. No way we could care for all who are sick,  however we were able to set up 6 community kitchens, that consisted of: a small stove, a butane tank and some large pot and pans. An average of 300 persons can be fed in each. Also the Baptist Men who had been there earlier, left pastor Leslie water purification systems that our team was able to install.

The needs are tremendous and they will be there for years; I don't see how that area of town can be rebuild in the next 10 years.

As we were getting to get back to Matamoros, I visited with pastors Leslie and Ramon and asked them how could we be of help in the near future. Here is what they are praying for:
1) Transportation: for people and personal (they have bicycles as transportation)
2) Water Pumps: to clean the wells and make them useful again
3) Cots
4) Food
5) Clothing

I have felt in my heart to donate them with one of our vans, if its fine with you, please let me know so I can start the paper work to license it in Mexico. Also, if you know of a small pick up truck or small 4 door car model 1990 thru 1995, it will be a blessing to the ministry of these two faithful servants.

As of today, I have already a brother who has donated two gas water pumps and all the fittings. God is answering!!!
Please pray for the people in Tapachula, for these Christian leaders who are working 18 hours daily since last month, and if you feel God is leading you to help in that area let me know.

In His Service,
Saul
