The Matamoros Children's Home

The Matamoros Children's Home
began its work in Matamoros, Mexico in 1967 with Bernard
and Freda Yandow. Located in a colonia for some years, it
served orphaned and neglected children.
In
1971
the Home moved its operations to the present location with
just one building that was constructed with the support and
help of several Baptist churches from Texas.
Today
the director Dr. Saul Camacho lives at the Home with his
wife Maria. They have three daughters of their own along
with 150 other children they call their own! Dr. Camacho is
a medical doctor and administrates the work at the on site
Clinic as well as the Home.

Its beginnings to the present...

Hundreds of children
have come, gladly accepting the help offered to prepare
themselves for life by completing their education and
finding eternal life in Jesus Christ.
The
Home
has produced, as "fruits of its labor" doctors, nurses,
educators, accountants,engineers, social workers, pastors
and many others. Now they proudly serve their neighbors,
their country and our Lord Jesus Christ!
