SparkleDirector's ReportSparkle
There are currently 150 children in residence at the Home.

Prayer Requests & Praises
Pray for all of the children
, for their physical provision, safety and spiritual growth.

Financial Needs - Pray that God will continue to provide the resources that the Home needs to minister to those, whom He has brought to the Home and He plans to bring to the Home. Praise God for His provision during 2007.

Sponsorship - $200 monthly for each child at the Home. The increase considers cost of school tuition, books and uniforms which are approximately $60,000 annually.

Children's Home Ministry Partners - Please pray for the 500 new partners that will serve and support the ministry.

Education Cost - Pray for Saul & Maria as they adjust to the budget for the Home considering the cost of tuition, books and uniforms for the children.

House Parents - Thank God for those house parents whom He has provided. Continue to pray for a couple needed for a boy's dorm and a lady needed for a girl's dorm to complete the staff.

Laundry Equipment - That God will provide the financial gifts to acquire additional commercial equipment in support of the growing needs at the Home. The home needs 1 - 50 pound washing machine and 3 - 70 pound propane dryers.

Medical Clinic - Support for the clinic and staff to minister to the community. The clinic needs about $500 a month support to function effectively. In addition, it needs medications and needs dentists who can serve quarterly.

Circulating Fans - Industrial type oscillating circulating fans will be provided by a supporter and will be installed during an upcoming work trip.

Working Garage - Dr. Camacho would like to construct a working garage to provide an area where mechanical work can be performed on buss', vehicles & farm equipment. The garage would also be used for storage of equipment. The estimate for construction of the facility is $15,000. Details can be obtained from Dr. Camacho.

Buses - The Home needs two 40-44 passenger buses as replacements. Check your local school auctions for two serviceable gasoline buses (duty to import the buses is 14 to 20% of the purchase price).

Support Cards - Pray that the Board will develop a way to communicate with those who come to the Home and encourage continued involvement with the ministry of the Home through prayer, active participation or financial support.

Medical and Dental Mission Workers - God would provide the medical and dental workers for the mission service opportunities.

SparklePLANT A TREE PROGRAM

DSC_0207DSC_0203
There is an old saying: “Have a son, write a book, plant a tree for your life to have an impact”

Recently, a group of retired “winter Texans” who spend the winter in Tip O Texas, got together, purchased and planted 60 orange, tangerines and grapefruit trees here at Matamoros Children’s Home to make this saying reality.

I know this orchard will bring fruits and will impact the lives of all of us here. To all who contributed to make this happen my sincere gratitude!!!

For years to come
these trees will be a reminder of those who lovingly dedicated their resources, time and effort to start this orchard.

Staff and children are excited
about learning how to care for these trees and even some venture to say “it would be a great idea if every one of us has one tree to care for”.

I just smile and thought, maybe next time.

There are many reasons why families and individuals consider making charitable donations. Whether part of an estate plan or simply the desire to support worthy charities, many people use their financial resources to promote the causes they care about and to create a personal legacy that sustains individual values and ideals. Yet despite a desire to give back to the community and the world, it can be difficult to put appropriate philanthropic processes in place. We can help you and your family design a charitable giving program that's uniquely suited to your financial circumstances, family loyalties and social ideals.
